i'm so in love...

... with the Google.

Here's something you might not know about me - I read a lot of blogs. Shocking, I know. Over the last few months, I have refined what used to be a time-consuming and bulky hobby into a sleek, streamlined process which allows me to keep up with over 60 blogs on a daily basis and still have room for a social life, work obligations, and artistic endeavors. Sometimes I ever write letters by hand and bake cupcakes. What, you ask, is this miraculous cure for the common ADD-driven blogger? Why, Google Reader, of course. Since I started using Google Reader, my morning round of blog reading now takes less than 40 minutes, as opposed to the two hours I would once steal to plunge the depths of the interwebs. Why am I going on about this now? Because yesterday, enlightenment sought me out once more. Now, I find I can not only read blogs in Google Reader, but share the posts that I feel are exemplar with my Google contacts who are also using Google Reader. Yes, this sounds a bit wacky, a bit like del.icio.us on crack, but it's fun. And I can make a special page of my shared items, which is cool. And it's Google! The ruler of all things searchable! How can I be expected to remain strong in the face of that awesomeness? Exactly. I can't.

So if you are my friend, and you have Google Reader, and you want to share items, please do. I will share with you. And together, we will frolic into the twisted, tubular world of a happy, shiny Google Universe.

(Real post, with real content, coming... one day.)

I share items, too! Not that anybody reads them, because the only place I've advertised them is on my Google Page. So yeah, you're not the only one in love with the Google. Is it a librarian thing?

I like google reader. But I am starting to feel resentful of it. I feel pouty and cranky now and I'm not sure I am ready to hop on board. I'm sure I'll warm up eventually, but I have to get over feeling neglected due to the hot new thing. I should really see a counselor. "I'm jealous of the internet..."

I love your new look Chrissy. I wouldn't have known about it except the crankypants F-R post (I got from Reader) linked me to your post - which I'd already read (via Reader).

Reader is like the remote assistant in Bangalor I've never had and wouldn't actually want because I'm about keepin' it domestic. At least until we pull out of this recession. Which I am pissed about because a movie ticket costs $9 and a gallon of milk $5. Thanks, rapid inflation!

PS, those statistics are courtesy of my 401K newsletter which followed up by saying inflation is the reason I should be making riskier investments. So I can afford the projected $14.45 movie ticket 20 years from now.

me too, me too!

( are you surprised?) maybe I was a librarian in a past life? :)

I'm not a librarian, which may be one of the reasons I'm behind the times on this.

So thank you Chrissy and Google, that makes things a lot easier :)

jen, you're 401k newsletter sounds like bad news. perhaps if they had a 401k blog instead? cause, you know, everything looks better with a little html.

oj - i am subscribed to your shared feed, too. but you still don't have an rss for your blog. this saddens me.

and bridey - you are not so behind. life of bridey is in my google reader, and has been for quite some time. see? google really IS everywhere.
